One of our favorite places on this earth is Lake Trillium, up on Mt. Hood. We recently spent some family time up there. This helped us to cross one more item off our "Summer Day Trip" list.
You can see from the picture above why we love it there so much. This is Glenn swimming around with his snorkel gear.
This is a little less than an hour away from our house. On super hot days it is great to go up there because it is always about 10 degrees cooler up on the mountain.
When we first got there Bennett was nervous about going in the water, so he hung out with the food, Theo and I.
This is for sure a place that Karl loves. He loves to doggy paddle around the lake.
We brought our little Hibachi grill and made J-Dawgs
(fancy hot dogs).

My kids found a couple of small logs to paddle around on. They were very much like Nature's version of those Styrofoam pool noodles.
Bennett finally got in the water! Once he was in, he LOVED it! Especially once he realized that there were sticks to be found and played with.
They all took turns using Glenn's snorkel and mask.
Lily spent a lot of time trying to help Bennett catch a duck. There were ducks every where. She couldn't take off the snorkel mask though because then one of her brothers would try and use it.
While we were playing, this father/son duo came in on their paddle boat with their poles and a cooler full of fish. The lake is stocked with trout, and this pair caught quite a few. Bennett was really interested in all of it.

This water gun he sneaked along provided much entertainment. He had fun shooting the ducks.
My favorite part of the day was nuzzling Theo's neck, and listening to his shrieks and giggles.
I'm glad we brought this bucket for Bennett to play with.
Cuddled up. Ready to go home.
We came home and had whole wheat waffles and omelet for dinner. The kids thought it was the best day ever. I think it came pretty close.

Oh my goodness, it looks like a little piece of Heaven - Beautiful! Loved the pictures.
That is seriously one of the most beautiful places on earth! Seeing the kids enjoying is the best. And Theo....well, he is nothing short of delightful.
