Last Sunday in Relief Society (the women's organization from church), our president taught the lesson. She shared a great quote from Julie B. Beck.
"It requires a conscience effort to diminish distractions, but having the Spirit of revelation makes it possible to prevail over opposition and persist in faith through difficult days and essential routine tasks. Personal revelation gives us the understanding of what to do every day to increase faith and personal righteousness, strengthen families and homes, and seek those who need your help."
Discussing this in Relief Society reminded me of an experience I had a few weeks ago. I was having a hard, emotional day. I was in the kitchen at dinner time, doing dishes, preparing food etc. I was crying, though I have no idea why! I knew why at the time, but by the next morning I couldn't even remember my reason for it. As I was working and crying, Glenn came into the room and said, "Don't worry mom, you will prevail."
I have repeated his words in my mind several times this last week, after being reminded of them in Relief Society. I will Prevail! I think Glenn's words, along with Julie Beck's have actually really helped me. I have been having a much better couple of weeks.
