A Visit from Ritz's

Jason invited his mom and brother up from SLC to attend the Portland Ensign Choir and Orchestra  concert.  I took this concert off, and it's a good thing because they came up and Jason was gone the whole time they were here.  I would've been gone with him if I had been singing too.

I love LOVE love my mother in law and Jason's brother Loren.  (We even named our #3 son Harrison Loren after him.)  Having said that... I was kinda stressed out about this visit.  I am very pregnant and very lazy and very emotional right now.  Having Jason gone all weekend was going to be hard enough.

I am super happy to say that things went great.  I still obviously have anxiety issues this pregnancy - maybe more than I have admitted to myself.

They flew in on the one day that Jason was home that week.  He had dress rehearsal that night, but he did get to spend the day with them.
Jason and Loren played Harrison's new Potato Head/Play Doh game he got for Christmas, with the kids.

Three days into it I was having a moment.  One of those moments when I just don't feel myself, like I might burst into tears for no reason, or for irrational reasons.  So, I hid in my bathroom.  I wasn't doing anything, just sitting in there taking deep breaths.  I wonder what the point is in hiding if 4 out 5 kids know where to find you.  Glenn was the only one who never came looking.
This is what the boys did while I took deep breathes.

I know I already posted these pictures, but I just had to post them again.  This is how Harrison came down for breakfast on Grandma's first morning there.  I hope she appreciated it.

On Saturday Glenn had an indoor Soccer tournament.  We all had fun watching him play.
Harrison and Max really wanted to be a part of the action.

Bennett wanted Lily almost the whole time.  He really loves her.
When Bennett didn't want Lily he wanted Loren.  He called him Daddy all weekend.  It was SO funny!  I think it's because Loren looks like Jason, because Bennett has never called any other man daddy.  For example my brother Jackson came over Christmas for 2 weeks and Bennett loved him to pieces, but never called him daddy.

Saturday night, after the soccer tourney, Myrna, Loren and I went to see Jason sing in the PECO concert.  It was a really fabulous concert!  I missed singing so bad.  I am excited to join with them again for the next concert in June.  Check us out if you're in the area.  It's going to be a very fun and wonderful concert with a Movie Theme!  Jenny Oaks Baker, professional violinist and Grammy Award Winner, will be joining us!  My kids are really excited to go to this one.

The next morning Jason and the kids took them to the airport before church.  We were all sad and wish that we could see them more often.

Music in our Lives

Music is a big part of our family.  The older 3 kids are all learning to play the piano, and have plans to learn other instruments as well.  Jason and I sing in the Portland Ensign Choir and Orchestra.  (Formerly known as the Portland Mormon Choir and Orchestra.)  We just finished our third and final concert in the 2010-2011 season.  We are so glad to have the Summer off.

Bennett being a copycat.  He loves to sit up there and make "noise" - just like his older siblings do.

Glenn and Lily waiting line to get into the auditorium for the concert.  These two kids LOVE coming to our concerts.
