I really love Halloween. I am so happy that this years festivities went on with no illness, no fiasco, no rain and lots of fun!
The kids had the day off from school. I personally thought that was dumb. I felt really bad for the teachers. Wouldn't it be better for them if the kids stayed home the day after Halloween? After they've stayed up late, and got hopped up on sugar? Not to mention us parents who feel kinda hung over the next morning after the rush of getting everyone into their costumes and make-up, and then rushing off to trick or treating.
I had to have a good way to entertain my very excited kids all day, so we went to OMSI. Apparently our district was the only one out of school because the place was deserted. AWESOME!
Lily tried her best to keep track of Bennett.
These are the results of me trying to get a picture of all them lined up together.
Bennett found these teenagers and followed them from thing to thing, watching everything they did very carefully. They and I thought it was super funny.
When he got bored with the teenagers he ran off and found this transparent woman, with buttons to push. When you push a button, that anatomy lights up. He really liked lighting up her bladder the most, for some reason.
Harrison in the Science Playground, new water area. Two years ago he got a staph infection in this water area, on his toe the week before Christmas. We had to take him to Urgent Care the day after Christmas where they told us it might have to be amputated. YIKES! That was a crazy time! Now my kids are NOT allowed to take their shoes off at OMSI!
Lily and Bennett pretending to be chipmunks in the Science Playground.
Bennett had SO much fun playing with Lily and Max.
What a Hoarder!
Bennett's favorite spot is the nest.
Mother Eagle watching over her babe.
Harrison and Glenn playing with little people.
Play Doh!
My kids LOVE this craft/hands on area.
A beautiful sight! My kids playing happily together. Max and Harrison not trying to kill each other!
We came home, ate pizza and got into costumes. This is what my bathroom counter top looked like after.
Already to GO!
A Werewolf, Alice in Wonderland, Skeleton, Ninja and the cutest Pirate alive!
Pictures from trick or treating
This is the face of Alice after receiving a regular sized candy bar!
Some of our favorite houses.
This sweet couple dressed up and sat on their porch all night, in the cold. They were tons of fun, and good sports!
We go to this house every year, and every year this pirate has a mic, with a sound system and hands out full sized candy bars. My kids LOVE him, but I think Jason LOVES him even more. Jason always tries to help the pirate come up with new jokes. I wish we could see the house and everything better in the video, but at least you can hear the banter.
In one yard with a super decorated house, there was this guy walking around scaring the noise out of most little kids. The little girl before us was balling as her mother whisked her away. Harrison walked up to him, offered him a handshake, and Bennett just stared him. I got some brave kids.
